Gastroparesis Signs & Symptoms (ex. Nausea, Weight Loss)
Gastroparesis is a gastrointestinal disorder, essentially “stomach paralysis” that is due to delayed emptying of stomach contents into the small intestine. This delayed emptying, or paralysis of the stomach, can have many different causes and risk factors (please check out my lesson on that particular topic). Due to food sitting in the stomach for extended periods of time (due to delayed gastric emptying), gastroparesis can have a variety of classic signs and symptoms, which we discuss in this lesson.

Does it raise blood pressure and heart rate too? I think this is what I’m experiencing, there comes a point when I belch and then I start to feel relief.
Don’t forget you can also trigger it from having an eating disorder or any eating patterns that are severe like restricting and then binging over and over – it messes up your stomach this is what happened to me. I also damaged the nerve I believe, with over excessive use of ibuprofen for a few months. Stupidly was taking way too many over a long period of time and rotten away my stomach lining … this is most likely what actually triggered it for me.
it says if food sits in the stomach… what if your stomach is empty? i had all those exact sympthoms sometimes already, but my stomach was empty. i just drank water to help me vomit. cause vomiting would relieve some pain. and the only other diference its that im a good eater and sometimes can even feel that i digest my food more fast than most people… sorry my english its not tha perfect. if anyone could help me out on this one…. a big first thank you. thanks for the video Doc! 🙂
I looked this up right now trying to figure find out why I feel like this, thanks for the help
CAC Sheet Dhara Syrup is an herbal preparatory which neutralizes the excess stomach acid to relieve heartburn, burping, loss of appetite, indigestion, an upset stomach, etc. This syrup works differently from other acid reducers as it prevents the secretion of stomach acid in a natural way and helps to overcome nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, heaviness, etc.
Omgosh thank you so much for this information I believe this is what I be experiencing i even went to the hospital n they couldn’t find nothing wrong but this video called out everything im going thru thank you again for sharing
I’m having difficulty in breathing, nausea and I don’t feel full easily. I’ll eat a lot but my stomach will feel empty. Then I’ll throw up the food because I ate more than usual. I get headaches and my difficulty in breathing becomes even more severe when I lay in my bed. I’ve had this for over a month now
This makes a lot more sense, whenever I eat after 7pm then in the morning I get a really bad pain in my stomach then I have to take medicine!
I’m 19 and I’ve been feeling like this for 2/3 weeks I can’t even enjoy a full meal
Well explained thank you so much.
I started getting an unusual condition where I’d start getting increasingly poor quality sleep due to stomach/intestinal gurgling and cramps in the early morning. At first, it was only enough to cause me to drift in and out, but after a week or two, it got so bad that I’d wake up 1-3 hours earlier than expected, and be unable to go back to sleep. Then the pain/gurgling would go away within an hour of sitting up and/or eating (there was no urgency to go to the bathroom). And now it’s coming back and I’m unsure of why. One theory is that it could be lactose that somehow has accumulated. I remember eating quite a lot of ice cream a couple of weeks ago, it did not affect me then, but could it now?
This lasted every for about 3-4 months, with nothing seeming to have a direct effect on making it better/worse (diet, timing of meals, probiotics, an antispasmodic before bed, etc.).
The cramps/gurgling doesn’t start waking me up until after 5-6 hours of lying down. Also, when I try to get back to sleep, it would just make it worse or keep it going. I remember sometimes standing up early in the morning with my sleepily eyes half closed for a while, just so that I could get back to sleep, because that would make it go away for another hour or so.
So I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Happening primarily during the late night/early morning, waking you up from sleep? And are there any particular medications, supplements or probiotics that have helped? The key thing is something that has either a long-duration or delayed effect, since the cramps/gurgling doesn’t start waking me up until after 5-6 hours of lying down.
I’m questioning if this is the underlying issue I have that causes my GERD. I’ve had stomach issues off and on for my entire life. Even as an infant my mother said I was fussy, refused tummy time, and had to sit upright even when sleeping. When I was little I kept feeling like I was going to throw up every single time I would go to bed and remember falling asleep several times beside the toilet because of the nausea. I was medicated for GERD, stabilized, and was able to get off medication. I went back on as a teen, it got really bad, and then I was again stabilized and weaned off for a few years. Now I’m starting to have issues again. My main symptom has ALWAYS been nausea and I feel like I’m going to puke but never do (but God sometimes just to make it stop I wish I did!). Within the last month or two my portions have become smaller and I’m loosing weight, I feel bloated, regurgitate my food sometimes, belch like a man, and even had some instances where I wake up with a really sore throat in the morning from a bad episode the night before. I’m constipated all the time too (I’m not in pain or anything… but not normal you know?) and I suffer from post nasal drip issues too. I seriously think my stomach is just slow at doing it’s job and I did read that mild cases of this come and go.
Sad thing is, I didn’t realize my portions were so small until people pointed that out and were growing concerned. I felt full… and so I thought it was good enough. However, heavy meals make me fill up much quicker and make me nauseous than simpler ones. What do you all thing? Have I been misdiagnosed with GERD? I just want my body health, and know how to help it!
